Coconut Flour
low-carb
high-fiber
gluten-free
good source of protein
Coconut Flour, the new low-carb,
high-fiber, gluten-free alternative to wheat flour for baking and cooking.
Coconut Flour is made from fresh organic coconut meat. The meat is dried and defatted
and then finely ground into a powder very similar in consistency to wheat flour.
Coconut Flour is a low carb flour. It is ideal
for baking low carb breads and baked goods. It has fewer digestible (net)
carbs than any other flour, including soy! It even has fewer digestible carbs
than most vegetables.
Coconut Flour
is a good source of protein. It has as much protein as wheat flour but it has
none of the specific protein in wheat called "gluten". This is an advantage
for a growing percentage of the population that have developed an allergy to
gluten or a wheat sensitivity.
Coconut Flour is high in fiber. It contains 61%
fiber which is the highest percentage of dietary fiber found in any flour
(wheat bran is 27% fiber). Coconut flour contains 4 times as much fiber as soy
flour.
Coconut Flour is gluten-free and hypoallergenic. It is ideal for those
who follow a low carb eating plan. It works well as part of a weight loss
program because its high fiber content helps provide a feeling of satiety.
Coconut Flour can be used to make breads, cakes, pies, and other baked goods. Use 15-25% in
place of other flours in most standard recipes. A variety of delicious baked
goods can also be made using 100% coconut flour.

I also bought the coconut flour for my granddaughter who is 12 years. She would always be at Grandma's, grating zucchini for her favorite zucchini bread. I was so saddened by the fact we couldn't do this together anymore. Your coconut flour gave us back a shared memory. I used 1/4 of the amount of coconut flour for my ratio for the regular flour. She kept giving me 2 thumb's up. When I cut the loaf in 10 pieces, it only came to 1.6 carbs. Kudos for coconut flour.

So far I've only used it once, but I found this coconut flour great for use in breading for pan-fried fish. It tasted fabulous. There are recipes on the package you can use for how to cook with this product.

This is my baking mainstay. I've lived a very low carb lifestyle for 2 years and this product allows me to make all the cookies, muffins, biscuits, pancakes etc. that I really missed. When used properly it produces light, fluffy baked goods with a nice taste and texture. You must use more eggs, liquid and fats/oils than with wheat flour but the results are good.

I love this brand because it is very low in calories and fat. Aloha Nu brand is also low in carbohydrates. It is great to use in muffin recipes, there happens to be a great recipe right on the front of the Aloha Nu bag.

I have used this flour to make chocolate chip cookies, muffins, and coffee cake. It's awesome! Using a slightly modified toll house cookie recipe that I came up with, my teens can't tell that the cookies (or muffins or coffee cake) they love are LOW CARB! This flour makes it possible for you to use a normal carb recipes and turn it low carb (I've not had good luck with the low carb cookbooks).
